Toys for Tots and Scenic Community Credit Union host toy drive

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – Last week, Scenic Community Credit Union hosted its Toys for Tots holiday toy drive at the East Brainerd branch.

Organizers say the event was a success, and they are grateful for the community’s generosity during what has been a challenging year for many families.

The credit union will hold one final donation event tomorrow at the Hixson branch and hopes to help even more families before the effort ends.

Kensley Mace, Marketing Specialist for Scenic Community Credit Union, says the goal is to ease the burden for families who may be facing hard financial choices this season.

“A lot of people are struggling financially right now, and we do not want them to have to pick between whether they will pay rent or put a present under the tree for their child.”

She says supporting families during the holiday season aligns with the credit union’s mission.

“One of our big priorities is creating financial peace of mind in our community, so this is one way we can do that for our members.”

The drive accepts gifts for children of all ages, and organizers say donations for older children are especially needed.

The goal is to make sure every child wakes up with something special on Christmas morning.
