World Cup Trophy Goes on Display in Chattanooga
Whoever thought we would see the World Cup trophy in Chattanooga?
But it was on display Monday, courtesy of the U.S. Women’s soccer team.
They of course won the World Cup last month in Canada by beating Japan 5-2.
And since they’re playing an exhibition match in Chattanooga on Wednesday, we got an early look at the trophy at Miller Plaza and later at the Hamilton Place Mall.
The women’s team will have an open practice session Tuesday afternoon at five o’clock at Finley Stadium.
Then their exhibition game with Costa Rica goes down around 7 pm on Wednesday at Finley Stadium.
The U.S. blasted Costa Rica 8-0 Sunday in Pittsburgh.
The trophy will once again be on display on Wednesday at Finley Stadium from 2:30pm to 7pm.
