Special election called in North Georgia state senate race to coincide with congressional race

DALTON, Ga. (WDEF)- North Georgia voters will not just be electing the replacement of Marjorie Taylor Greene in March in the Congressional seat 14 special election.

They will also be voting in a Special Election for the State Senate District 53 seat.

This is due to the current representative, Colton Moore, electing to run for the Congressional seat.

Voters in Dade, Walker, Catoosa, Chattooga, and portions of Floyd Counties will get to vote in this election.

It will be a jungle style election where all candidates appear on the same ballot regardless of party affiliation.

The election will be held on March 10, with a runoff on April 7 if no candidate in the March 10 election receives a majority of the vote.
