Whataburger Expands Across Tennessee

EAST RIDGE, Tenn. (WDEF) – Whataburger, a fast-food chain founded in Corpus Christi, Texas in 1950, continues expanding its footprint across Tennessee with the opening of a new location in East Ridge.

The Texas-based company has steadily grown outside its home state over the last several years and now operates more than 20 locations across Tennessee as part of its broader expansion across the Southeast.

The East Ridge restaurant is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

For the first few weeks of operation, the location is expected to operate as a drive-thru only while staffing and internal operations are fully established.

Company representatives say limited operations during early weeks are common with new openings.

Whataburger is best known for its made-to-order burgers and customizable menu options, including all-beef patties, chicken sandwiches, fries, and shakes.

In addition to its regular menu, the chain offers an overnight breakfast menu available daily from 11 p.m. until 11 a.m.

Breakfast options include items such as breakfast burgers, biscuit-based sandwiches, taquitos, and coffee, a schedule that sets it apart from many other fast-food restaurants.

Company officials have also indicated there may be additional plans to bring more Whataburger locations to the surrounding area as demand continues to grow, signaling continued investment in the Tennessee market.
