Faulty HVAC Unit Leads to Emergency Investigation
The Cagle Mountain Fire Department (CMFD) says they responded to a residence on SR8 following a report of a smoke odor inside a home.
They say engines arrived on scene and confirmed the presence of smoke odor coming from the crawlspace.
After investigating, crews determined the cause to be a faulty HVAC unit.
Fire personnel disabled the HVAC system and confirmed there was no active fire or continuing smoke condition, the CMFD says.
They say the scene was then turned over to the homeowner and an HVAC company for repairs.
All CVFD units returned to service at 8:45 a.m.
