Signal Mountain Police respond to bicycle crash

SIGNAL MOUNTAIN, Tenn. (WDEF) – On Saturday around 4:38 p.m., officers with the Signal Mountain Police Department responded to an injured bicyclist on Sam Powell Trail, near Nolan Elementary School.

According to the Signal Mountain Police Department, they say when arriving, officers found a juvenile male who had been involved in a bicycle crash.

The juvenile was receiving medical care from the Signal Mountain Fire Department who were already on scene.

The bicyclist had been found in a ditch along the south side of the roadway, with the bicycle found nearby with minor damage.

While officers say several individuals were present at the scene, no witnesses reported observing the crash itself.

At this time, there is no indication that another vehicle was involved.

Officers are currently reviewing available video footage from Nolan Elementary School to assist with the investigation.

The Signal Mountain Police Department is asking anyone who may have witnessed this incident or who may have information that could assist in the ongoing investigation to please contact the department.
