Cat rescued from apartment fire on Morrison Springs Road
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — No injuries were reported and a cat was rescued following an apartment fire on Morrison Springs Road on May 8th, 2026.
According to the Chattanooga Fire Department (CFD), firefighters responded to the 700 block of Golden Place in the Views at Signal Mountain complex just after 1 p.m.
Once on scene, firefighters learned that no occupants were inside the building and everyone had safely evacuated the structure.
They found smoke coming from the building and when they made entry into one of the units, they found flames coming from the electrical outlets in the kitchen.
Crews extinguished fire in the walls and then checked for any extension, CFD says.
They share a cat was rescued from one of the apartments by firefighters and the pet received oxygen from HCEMS personnel.
Fire companies remained at the complex working for more than two hours, targeting remaining hot spots.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
