CFC Brings Soccer to Erlanger Park
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – Chattanooga Football Club is preparing to take the field at Erlanger Park for a milestone event in the club’s history.
CFC will host Inter Miami CF II in the first soccer match ever played at the stadium. The game is part of the club’s “Summer of Soccer” celebration taking place across Chattanooga.
The match comes as anticipation builds locally and nationally around the FIFA World Cup coming to the United States and America250 celebrations this year.
Jason Freier, managing owner of the Chattanooga Lookouts, says the stadium was designed with soccer in mind and built to accommodate a full regulation pitch.
He also noted that care was taken in the design to create strong viewing angles for fans during events like this.
Erlanger Park was designed with flexibility in mind, allowing a full soccer pitch to be configured on the field, parallel along the third base line for special events like this one.
