Chattanooga Zoo offers Aldabra giant tortoise feedings

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — The Chattanooga Zoo says they are offering Aldabra giant tortoises feedings on Wednesday – Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the front of the Zoo.

They say Loki, Thor, Odin, and Asgard who were all born from the same clutch 11 years ago and weigh around 100 pounds each.

Aldabra giant tortoises commonly grow to be 300 – 500 pounds and can live to be over 150 years old.

Tortoise feedings are $10 per person for non-members and $8 per person for Zoo members.

The Chattanooga Zoo says the Aldabra tortoise experience includes feeding them lettuce as well as the opportunity to scratch their shells with a brush.
