Kite Day at the Chattanooga Sculpture Fields
Chattanooga, TN (WDEF) – Chattanooga’s Sculpture Fields celebrated all things kites Saturday…
With a one-of-a-kind sneak peek.
Even though the grand opening isn’t until April, on Saturday Chattanoogans got a first glimpse of the Sculpture Fields on the south-side with kite day.
The event kicked off the weekend openings for the Sculpture Field.
The event Kite: Sculpture in the Sky featured all sorts of high-flying kites.
John Henry is the Sculpture Fields Founder. He said, "The Chattanooga Kite Club, we asked them to come and participate. They’ve been looking for a place where there weren’t a lot of larges trees, so they could fly kites. And we really built the field just for that."
When it’s finished, the Sculpture Fields will be home to 75 different sculptures.
23 of those large scale sculptures are already installed.
