Vols Quarterback Josh Dobbs Working Out With the UT Baseball Team

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) – Tennessee quarterback Joshua Dobbs is spending part of his offseason working out with the Volunteers’ baseball team.

Vols baseball coach Dave Serrano says Friday that Tennessee’s starting quarterback has participated in two baseball workouts with football coach Butch Jones’ blessing.

Serrano declined comment on whether Dobbs might play for the baseball team. Dobbs, who played baseball in high school, wasn’t included in the Tennessee baseball roster that was distributed Friday.

Serrano says he’s been in “constant communication” with Dobbs and Jones “about any affiliation that (Dobbs) may or may not have with this program.”

Tennessee opens its baseball season Feb. 19. The football team begins spring practice March 7 and holds its spring game April 16.
