Update on chase and arrests in Ft. Oglethorpe on Monday

FT. OGLETHORPE, Georgia (WDEF) – Ft. Oglethorpe police identify the suspects in the chase on Monday from the Walmart parking lot to Office Depot parking lot.

They are 45 year old George Hughes, 57 year old Leander Johnson and 49 year old

45 year old George Hughes is charged with shoplifting and obstruction.

57 year old Leander Johnson faces the same charges, plus fleeing and driving on a revoked license.

49 year old Lisa Massey also faces shoplifting plus allowing unlawful operation of her car.

Around 2:50 in the afternoon, police got a shoplifting call from the Walmart on Battlefield Parkway.

Officers stopped a suspect vehicle, and one person fled on foot.

Police say the car then tried to flee and the officer fired a shot to stop it.

No one was hurt by the shot.

Police chased down the car in the Office Depot parking lot.

The third suspect was captured near the Battlewood Apartments.

The GBI took over the investigation since an officer fired his weapon.
