13-year-old injured after being hit by vehicle on Hixson Pike

HAMILTON COUNTY, Tenn. — A 13-year-old has been injured following a traffic incident on Hixson Pike.

On the evening of July 15, 2026, Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) deputies responded to a traffic incident at the 7200 block of Hixson Pike involving a 13-year-old struck by a vehicle.

They say deputies determined a truck pulling a trailer loaded with lawn equipment stopped in a travel lane due to a weed eater becoming loose.

The HCSO says the driver advised the juvenile passenger to exit the vehicle and secure the equipment.

A second vehicle collided with the stopped vehicle while the juvenile was attempting to secure the trailer.

The juvenile was transported to the hospital by ambulance with non-life threatening injuries.

They say the HCSO Traffic Unit is investigating, and charges may follow pending the outcome.
