Vols on Upset Alert With Noon Kickoff Against Ohio

If you look around the SEC, it seems league teams struggle with those noon kickoffs against a lighter foe.
So far this year, South Alabama upset Mississippi State with a noon kick, and Nicholls State almost did the same to Georgia.
The Vols host Ohio at noon on Saturday, so UT is on upset alert.
Said head coach Butch Jones-“We have done a study of noon games over the course of a few years. It’s staggering. I want to say the average points spread was like 30-something points, and the average margin of victory was ten or eleven points. We don’t like to make too much of it. The way Derek Barnett said it I think was fittingly. Love noon games. You get to get up and do what you love to do. You get to get up and play football.”
Jones also announced that former Baylor Red Raider Colton Jumper will start at linebacker this Saturday in place of the injured Darrin Kirkland, Jr.
