Mocs Receiver Xavier Borishade Off to Monster Start in Senior Season

Chattanooga-(WDEF) If Mocs wideout Xavier Borishade maintains his current production, he’ll obliterate the UTC receiving records this season.
Borishade is off to a monster start in his senior season.
Xavier Borishade currently leads the nation in yards per catch, averaging a whopping 39 yards a reception after two games.
Said Borishade-“I still think about it all the time. It’s a blessing. It’s amazing. I happy to be in this position to do that.”
Said head coach Russ Huesman-“Hopefully this is a break-out year for him big time. He has been good for this his fourth year now. We feel really good about him.”
Said Borishade-“It was like my senior year in high school. My senior year was my break-out year. I kind of want it to be the same thing here.”
One reason Borishade’s average yards per catch is so high is the arm of quarterback Alejandro Bennifield.
Said Borishade-“He can throw the ball as far as anybody I’ve ever seen.”
Borishade has only six catches, but four have been for touchdowns.
When he’s not in the end zone, Borishade is trying to make sure others get to the house.
Said Huesman-“The thing people don’t realize is he blocks. Unbelievable effort every game and in practice. High energy guy. You love being around those kind of guys.”
Said Borishade-“I feel like I bring a kind of fire to our receiving corps. Like I want everybody to be great.”
Borishade is not a one man show for the Mocs at receiver either.
Said Borishade-“Our receiving corps is definitely one of the best in the nation. I know right now it seems like all the attention is on me because of the last game, but the rest of them produce just as much as I do. This upcoming week it’s going to be one of their times. I’m excited to see who it’s going to be.”
