Country singer Lari White dies of rare cancer
NASHVILLE (WDEF) – Country singer Lari White Cannon has died after a brief battle with cancer.
She was only diagnosed with the rare and aggressive peritoneal cancer in October.
White entered a Hospice facility last night.
The family had begun a GoFundMe campaign to pay for her medical expenses which has almost met the $100,000 goal.
White won the Nashville Network talent show You Can Be A Star in 1988.
It launched her country music career that saw her chart several songs in the 1980s and 90s.
Her biggest hit was Now I Know in 1994.
White also appeared in movies with small parts in Cast Away and Country Strong.
Lari White was 52.
She leaves behind three children and her husband, Chuck Cannon, who is also a songwriter and performer.
