House Fire Total Loss

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – Sale Creek fire officials reported a home was destroyed by fire tonight.

Around 8:30 pm a 9-1-1 call was made reporting a fire at 4122 Retro Hughes Road. Sale Creek Volunteer Fire Department responded and arrived on the scene confirming a fully involved house fire with total roof collapse.

Due to the instability of the structure, firefighters conducted a “defensive attack” on the fire to extinguish it quickly.

Sale Creek fire officials reported the homeowner was not home when the fire broke out. Unfortunately the homeowner did loose a dog in the fire.

The house is a total loss and Damages are unknown at this time.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
