Vols Marching Into SEC Tournament After Capturing Share of Regular Season Crown
Vols The Vols basketball team captured a share of the SEC regular season title over the weekend for the first time in ten years with their victory over Georgia.
Thanks to the win, Tennessee grabbed the two seed for the upcoming SEC tournament. The second seeded Vols earned a double bye. They won’t play until the quarterfinal round on Friday night at 7pm. The Vols finished the regular season with a 23-7 record, and they’ll carry a four game winning streak into the league tournament in St. Louis, where head coach Rick Barnes hopes the good times continue.
Said Barnes:”What we are going after now. Every team has got a fresh start. We’ve played the regular season. Now we are going into a conference tournament where there’s a lot at stake. There’s another championship there that can be won. There’s a way to improve your seeding. Like I told them on Saturday night. This is good, but it can be better.”
