U.S. citizens swearing in ceremony

CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – While the nation debates the case for millions of undocumented people in the country, two groups of people today took the oath of allegiance here in Chattanooga.

The first ceremony was held at the Federal courthouse at 10:30 this morning with 50 people.

Altogether more than a hundred people turned out at the Joel Solomon building to become the newest United States citizens.

They came from 30 countries ranging from Brazil to Russia to Venezuela.

“IT WAS AN honor to be amongst so many other people that had worked to get to this place. It definitely was an investment ….and it’s an honor to address that and to be with many other people at the same time.”

During 2017, 715-thousand were naturalized in ceremonies nationwide.
