Multiple Wrecks Shuts Down Interstate 75 Near Ooltewah
UPDATE, 12:30pm – Interstate 75 has reopened according to Tri-County Volunteer Fire Department.
Hamilton County, TN (WDEF) – Two separate accidents on Interstate 75 Southbound near Ooltewah brought traffic to a standstill Tuesday morning. The Tri-Community Volunteer Fire Department responded to two accidents, one at mile marker 10.5 and one at mile marker 13. The crash at mile marker 13 occurred around 7:30am. The crash at mile marker 13 involved 2 semis, a dump truck, a van, and 2 passenger vehicles. A school bus was on scene, but not involved in the crash.
The interstate was shut down with heavy backups. Motorists are being rerouted. The first accident at mile marker 10.5 was reported cleared shortly before 8 am.
