Crash sheers off a power pole on Central Avenue

CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – A driver crashed into a light pole in Chattanooga shutting down the street.

It left part of the light pole hanging and the rest of it on the ground.

It happened on Central Avenue this afternoon.

Chattanooga Police blocked off the road to keep people away from the lines until EPB could make necessary repairs.

No word yet on the extent of injuries, but officials believed they appeared to be minor.
