Mocs Feeling Good About New Running Back Tyrell Price

hattanooga-(WDEF-TV) Remember the name Tyrell Price when the Mocs kick off their season. The new UTC running back led the Juco nation last year with 24 rushing touchdowns, and it seems he has been living up to the hype since he arrived in Chattanooga.

When you mention the Mocs offense during interviews, one name keeps coming up.
Said defensive back C.J. Fritz:”We brought in some really great players as far as Tyrell Price at running back.”
Said head coach Tom Arth:”With Tyrell Price coming in mid-year. Having a great spring. Great summer.”
Said offensive lineman Harrison Moon:”We have Tyrell Price, who is a horse at running back.”
Said offensive lineman Malcolm White:”He’s a huge addition. He seems like he is going to be a really good player for us.”
Said Price:”Having my teammates believe in me. Having that trust in me. You don’t catch that too often. Kind of makes me come out here and want to go a little bit more harder than I normally would.”
Price has that combination of size and speed everyone covets.
Said Arth:”He’s 6-foot, 220 pounds, and he is a load. He’s an absolute load. I think our defense. They know. They know when he’s coming that they better get their pad level down and be ready for a big collision because he’s not avoiding much contact.”
Said running backs coach Chris Hurd:”As decisively big as he is, he has got really good explosiveness. He’s got good power. His change of direction is really, really good, and he makes decisive cuts. But Tyrell is really doing a nice job of coming out here and kind of putting his stamp on things and kind of really defining what we are looking for at the running back position.”
Coach Arth can’t wait to see Price in action, especially in the fourth quarter.
Said Arth:”Tackling Tyrell in the first quarter is different than tackling Tyrell in the fourth quarter. He is going to wear on a defense. Big legs they’ve got to wrap up. There are some DB’s that aren’t going to want to be apart of that in the fourth quarter.”
Said Price:”They are giving me a pretty good chance around here. I really appreciate the coaching staff. My players. Like you said, putting that trust in me, so I really appreciate it.”
