Victim in Rustic Village apartment fire dies from burns
CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – The woman who was severely burned in the Rustic Village North Apartment fire has died.
67 year old Karen Elaine Russell has been in a burn unit since the fire happened a week ago.
The fire happened just around 7:30 AM on August 31st.
A witness helped alarm residents about the fire and brought the woman out of the burning unit.
No other residents were seriously injured by the fire, but a firefighter was treated.
19 families were displaced by the fire.
