Amber Alert Cancelled, Missing Cleveland Girl Found
CLEVELAND, Tennessee (WDEF) – After a 17 hour search, a 10 year old girl from Cleveland is back home with her family after going missing last night.
The TBI reported that 10 year old Arleth Medina was found without harm around 1 p.m. Friday.
Overnight, officials issued an Amber Alert, and agecies from all over the Tennessee Valley came together to help with the search.
Police say she was found in a nearby ditch by a member of the search crew.
Many people were truly surprised with the outcome, because they say in their many years in law enforcement, situations like this rarely have a happy ending.
CLEVELAND, Tennessee (WDEF) – The TBI and Cleveland Police are looking for an 10 year old girl reported missing Thursday night.
The mother of Arleth Yazmin Linares Medina says she took her daughters for a walk at Ocoee Middle Soccer field earlier in the evening.
But when they got home, Arleth noticed she had left the house keys at the soccer field.
While mom took the three year old inside, Arleth said she would run back to the soccer field to get the keys. That was around 8:20 PM.
She never came home.
Her mom went looking for her 20 minutes later. An hour later, she called police.
Since then, officers have searched the neighborhood and the field. TBI agents, Cleveland Firemen, Lee University campus security and Bradley County deputies are all taking part in the search.
