Angry Chattanooga man with shotgun arrested after threats
It happened Saturday night at a home in the 4700 block of Forest Avenue.
Chattanooga police arrested Christopher Clowers, 31, after he became angry and threatened to shoot the three people inside the home.
According to the police report, officers were dispatched to the home after receiving a call about Clowers making threats with a gun. When officers arrived, they met with three people who exited the home for fear of being shot.
The three people reportedly told officers that Clowers had been drinking alcohol and was upset at all three of them.
Clowers reportedly told all three that he would shoot and kill them as he began to load a shotgun.
According to the report, when officers gained entry into the house, they heard the sound of a firearm being loaded. That caused officers to back out of the home to try and make contact with Clowers from a safer location.
Clowers eventually exited the home and surrendered to police.
He reportedly denied having a weapon but when officers searched the home, they found a shotgun and a pellet rifle.
Clowers was charged with three counts of aggravated assault, illegal possession of a firearm and possession of a firearm while under the influence.
