Annual Thanksgiving day Stuffing Strut raises money for north Hamilton County families

Hixsonm TN (WDEF) – Hundreds kicked off their Thanksgiving day holiday with a brisk walk in the woods at Chester Frost park.
The annual Stuffing Strut raises money specifically for northern Hamilton County families.
Runners and walkers of all ages laced up their sneakers for the cause early Thanksgiving morning before they stuffed themselves with turkey and stuffing.
The event keeps getting bigger every year.
Sandy Weeks organizes the Stuffing Strut.  She said, "We’ve had a lot of people coming in yesterday to pick up their shirts and a lot of new people added in.  I think the awareness this year has been great, just more people knowing about it and just willing to come out and support the community.  It’s been wonderful."
Representatives from the Northside Neighborhood House, Dallas Bay Volunteer Fire Department, Soddy Daisy Food Bank and Soddy Daisy Middle School talked about what the Stuffing Strut means to them.
