Arrest made in an assault in Alton Park that was posted to social media

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – A juvenile is behind bars in Chattanooga, charged with aggravated assault after a video was posted to social media this week.

Chattanooga Police say they were called to a local hospital about a female who arrived suffering from significant bodily harm that appeared to be caused by another person.

The victim told police the assault happened around 7:30 p.m. on January 29th at a home on Water Street, in the Alton Park area.

CPD Officers retrieved a Facebook live video of the assault and a suspect was identified

The video shows the assault beginning inside the home and ending outside where the suspect is seen repeatedly kicking and stomping the victim’s head and neck area.

On Friday, the 2nd, CPD Officers located and arrested the suspect. Investigators determined the assault is gang related.

Members of the Violent Crimes Bureau continue to actively investigate this incident.

More charges could be added as the investigation continues.
