Ashland Terrace closed until December

RED BANK, Tenn. (WDEF) – Construction began on Ashland Terrace today to replace a drainage culvert under the street.

Drivers are having to be extra cautious along Dayton Blvd. while the road is closed.

The closure is from the intersection of Dayton Blvd and Tacoma Ave.

Red Bank police were out directing traffic along the detours this morning to get drivers acclimated to the new traffic pattern..

The detours direct drivers onto Bank Street behind the Red Bank Baptist Church and onto Tacoma Avenue, which is a residential street.

No speed limit restrictions have been put on Dayton boulevard, but the speed limit on Tacoma is still 25 miles per hour.

Some residents are concerned drivers will drive too fast down their street but others just want people to be mindful as they take the detour.

Resident Betty McDonald says “just be careful be safe, be slow, and remember we’re here.”

The road will be closed until the start of December, but the City of Red Bank was not available for comment on why the project will take so long.

The city has an entire website dedicated to the updates and information on the project.
