Australian artist brings international flair to McCallie Walls Mural Project
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – The McCallie Walls Mural Project gets a little international flavor.
Australian artist Harriet McKay hopes to finish her mural this week.
The McCallie Walls Mural Project is Chattanooga’s first drive through art gallery.
It stretches from Holtzclaw Avenue to Holly Street.
Even before this project, McKay’s work stretched all across the globe.
McKay explained, “I got an opportunity to paint while I was away, in southeast Asia on some walls in Cambodia and Vietnam. And then in Adelaide [Australia] I painted on a big wall, about as tall as this that I did, and yeah, now I’m doing this.”
You can check out McKay’s work on the side of The Refindery on McCallie Avenue at Holtzclaw Avenue.
