Authorities Investigate Death of 24 Year Old Woman on Monteagle

CHATTANOOGA, TN (WDEF)- The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is working with Monteagle Police after a 24 year old woman was struck and killed by a motor vehicle.
Authorities say the incident occurred at the Monteagle Greene Apartment Complex at 48 Madison Avenue.

Around 5AM Sunday, Jennifer Layne’s body was discovered in the parking lot after being hit.

Layne is the the stepdaughter of former Grundy County Sheriff Brent Myers.

An autopsy is scheduled for today.
