Bass Pro Shops Holds “Sneak Peak” of New East Ridge Store

The city of East Ridge will soon have the anchor store they’ve been looking for at Camp Jordan.
Bass Pro Shop will open later this year, and its hoped that will bring other merchants to the area and spur the city’s economy.

JARRON RITCHIE, STORE MANAGER, BASS PRO SHOPS “Our service levels, our building, we want it to be an experience. We want folks to walk in the store and find the things that inspire them to continue to love and enjoy and conserve the outdoors.”

Scheduled to open this summer, Bass Pro Shops hosted a sneak preview this morning to let the public see how the construction is progressing on one of the biggest outdoor store in the area.
It includes a lot of features that incorporate the local experience.

JARRON RITCHIE “The inside is where a lot of our progress is going on with our imagery, our visuals—the muralists seen here starting to put all the personalization on our building, we take a lot of the Tennessee Appalachian mountains and the Cumberland plateau and bring a lot of Chattanooga area into our building.”

East Ridge leaders eagerly awaiting the opening also got a good look at the new store.

BRENT LAMBERT, EAST RIDGE MAYOR ” Its exciting – could have very long lasting ramifications for the city of East Ridge in terms of tax dollars, and really quality of life enhancements for the people that live here. You will be able to do more of the things you want to do, get more of the stuff you need to get without leaving East Ridge.”

When complete, the store will feature interior rockwork, trees, murals, and a freshwater aquarium designed to create an immersive outdoors-themed shopping adventure.

JARRON RITCHIE “We take into consideration that we’ll have our 12-thousand gallon aquarium which will ultimately end up holding the local fish here..so you’ll have largemouth, you’ll have crappie in there…you’ll have catfish, stripers, you’ll have trout in there and you’ll get a lot of what you’d see in the outdoors in this area inside our building.

The store will employ approximately 150 associates.
Bass Pro Shops will be hosting a job fair on April 11, 12, and 13 at Camp Jordan.
