McCallie Blasts Baylor 42 to 7

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF)- Our Friday night tailgate game belongs to the state’s oldest rivalry, as Baylor traveled to McCallie.

The Red Raiders have won seven of the last eight meetings.

Their last loss came two years ago when McCallie moved the game back on their home campus.

So tonight, Baylor was hoping for a better outing on the Big Blue’s home turf.

Once again, Baylor struggles at McCallie. They were down 28 – 0 at the half. Opening drive of the 3rd. Baylor inside the 10, TRUSTEN McARTOR trying to score, he stretches, fumble, STONE ROEBUCK scoops it up.

And he’s headed the other way. Big question… does he have enough gas in the tank. He starts to slow down and he’s brought down at the 13.

Now, I know what you’re saying.Wasn’t that Baylor QB down before he fumbles. Sure looks like it on the replay.

Big turn of events to say the least. Baylor Coach PHIL MASSEY can’t believe it.

First snap after the fumble, SHAWN MCCOLLEY goes 13 yards for the TD. That made it 35 – 0, everything was spinning out of control for Baylor.

Just over 3 minutes left in the game, it’s now 35 – 7 and XAVIER BROOKS puts a cap on the night for the Blue Tornadoes.

He went 45 yards for the Touchdown. McCallie did not attempt a single pass in the 2nd half. They blast Baylor 42 – 7.
