Bethel Bible Village receives grant

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn (WDEF) – A local nonprofit organization received an early Christmas gift recently.

Bethel Bible Village in Hixson was awarded the Truist Lighthouse Project grant, allowing them to buy 13 new appliances.

The appliances ranged from anything such as washing machines, dryers, refrigerators, and even a wall oven.

President of the organization says with over 10 children living in each cottage, household appliances get a lot of use and the replacements were needed.

“This year has not been easy for us. Especially for the kids because they have to be quarantined here on campus. To have someone like Truist come forward and bless us with such a huge gift, it makes everyone feel like the community is behind us and supporting us,” says Rosalind Connor, President of Bethel Bible Village.

The children are responsible for their own laundry and their own meals as a part of life skills training.
