Blood Assurance in Critical Need of Blood Donors

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn (WDEF) – Blood Assurance and blood banks across the nation are seeing the lowest donor turnout since the pandemic began.

Volunteer blood donors are in critical need  in our communities to help replenish the blood supply to save patient’s lives.

Blood Assurance has a critical need for O donors due to multiple traumas in our service.

Blood cannot be manufactured and only donors can help save the lives of others in our community.

“This time is different. We are pretty far into the pandemic as of right now. I have zero units of O positive and 2 units of O negative to serve over 70 hospitals. This a plea to the public to come out and support us today. We are giving $10 Amazon gift cards to all O type donors. Starting today lasting to the 28th,” says Dr. Liz Culler, Chief Medical Officer for Blood Assurance.

Blood assurance has extended their hours until 8PM April 21st.
