Blood Assurance Issuing Critical Appeal for Type O Blood

Blood Assurance is issuing a critical appeal for type O blood, both positive and negative.

Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Liz Culler says one of the reasons is due to it being fall break week.

The Officer explains people having accidents and requiring blood in addition to a lower amount of donors is what is contributing to it.

Blood Assurance told us they have less than a one – day supply.

They are providing a twenty dollar amazon gift card to any type O donation through October 22nd.

“We’ve shipped a large number of O units. This weekend, we shipped four hundred and seventy – three units of O-positive whereas usually we would ship two hundred and fifty to three hundred units, so almost double the use,” says Dr. Culler.
