Bradley County Authorities make Burglary Arrest

Bradley County, Tenn. (WDEF) – Bradley County Sheriff Eric Watson announced Saturday that two major burglaries have been solved.

Deputies responded to a residence on Hensley Rd. where they spoke with a witness that stated he watched a man load several boxes of items into the back of a red Chevrolet S.U.V. across the street.

Across the street, Deputies observed a trail of tall grass that appeared to be disturbed as if someone had dragged a large object across its surface.

traffic stopThe Deputies followed the path and made contact with the property owner, who told them that approximately $20,000.00 worth of farm equipment and other items had been stolen.

Police re-visited the scene later and observed a red S.U.V. matching the description of the suspect vehicle.

When deputies made contact with the vehicle, they observed two lawn mowers in the rear of the red Chevrolet that were later identified as being stolen.

Ronald Preston Phillips was arrested after several items that were reported stolen were located during the search of his vehicle.

Phillips is being charged with two counts of Burglary, in addition to Theft over $1,000 and Theft over $10,000.

Other charges are pending as officials continue their investigation.
