Bradley County Fire and Rescue selected for Harvey “Strike Team”

CLEVELAND, Tenn. (WDEF) – Bradley County Fire and Rescue professionals have been personally selected by the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency to serve as directors of a “Strike Team”.

This team will be sent tomorrow morning to help the people that have been devastated by Hurricane Harvey, in and across Texas.

Chief Shawn Fairbanks will choose 2 people, boats, and other equipment needed to lead a team of 6 professionals who are trained and extremely proficient in swift water rescue from across our surrounding region.

These brave volunteers will leave Bradley County Fire and Rescue’s Downtown station located at 260 Inman Street tomorrow at 11:00 AM for a one week mission.

They will travel with their equipment to TEMA, Tennessee Emergency Management Agency, headquarters in Nashville to then be sent with other units to help in the continuing mission there to help those in need.
