Bradley County Woman Loses her Life in Fatal House Fire

Cleveland, Tenn. (WDEF) – Bradley County officials are working hard to find answers, after a 66-year-old woman lost her life in a house fire Monday afternoon.

“One of the neighbors on the backside of this property noticed some smoke, and called the fire department,” said Lindsay Hathcock, with the Bradley County Sheriff’s Department.

Hathcock said responders arrived on scene just 10 minutes after receiving the call, only to find the home fully engulfed in flames, “And upon entering the structure, noticed a body at the other end of the trailer.”

Authorities don’t believe anyone else was home at the time the fire started, and have no reason to think any foul play was involved, but say they will continue to search for the cause of the fire.

“We’re taking every precaution to make sure the investigation is complete,” said Hathcock.

Family members identified the victim as Donna Jacobs. Officials say the state fire marshal and other investigators were called in to help, as a precautionary measure.
