Brainerd High School student arrested for possessing taser

HAMILTON COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) — Hamilton County Police arrested a Brainerd High School student for having a taser.

Taija Hudson is an 18-year-old student at Brainerd High.

Police said she got into a fight with another girl Friday afternoon. The fight happened just before 12:30 p.m. at the school.

According to the sheriff’s office, Hudson told the other student that she had a taser. The Hamilton County SRO intervened at this point. The SRO determined that Hudson was in possession of a taser.

They said she was non-compliant and resisted arrest.

Hamilton County officers then arrested Hudson and took her to the Hamilton County Jail and Detention Center.

They are charging her with having a prohibited weapon on school grounds, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.


News 12 does not include the names of minors who have been arrested. However, this individual is 18 years of age, which is why the name is included.
