Braves Discuss Season of Change on Chattanooga Caravan Stop

Chattanooga-(WDEF) Only fitting that the Braves signed autographs near a sign for a clearance sale at Academy Sports+Outdoors, given how General Manager John Hart took the Tomahawk and chopped up the team.

Now Homer the mascot might be the most recognizable Braves star.
Said first base coach Terry Pendleton,"I have to be honest with you, I have to check the rosters every week to see who we have and don’t have to be totally honest with you."
Said infielder Phil Gosselin,"John Hart has got a plan. I trust what he is doing. It’s going to be fun to be apart of that process."
Said catcher Christian Bethancourt,"It’s going to be exciting. Lot of new faces. A lot of new players. It’s going to be a challenge every single day on the field and in spring training."
Said Pendleton,"We had to do what we had to do. There were just some situations that we couldn’t avoid. Our minor league system wasn’t where we liked for it to be. Our major league team wasn’t where we would like for it to be, so we had to make some changes to get them there."
Maybe the Braves will just spin the wheel to see where the offense comes from this year.
Said Pendleton,"We still finished 29th out of 30 teams in offense last year. Everybody looks at that and says where will the offense come from. How are we going to put together some runs? We struggled doing that last year with some pretty good hitters. So hopefully this year we can find a different way to get it done."
One rising star may be catcher Christian Bethancourt.
Former Braves catcher Javy Lopez says the guy is a stud.
Said Lopez,"He’s got a tremendous arm. As long as he keeps his arm like that and he works on his speed, I mean we’re going to have a catcher for a long time."
At least Bethancourt gets to work with a talented pitching staff.
Said former Braves pitcher Charlie Leibrandt,"They’ve got a good bunch of young arms. And of course they have Craig Kimbrel in the bullpen. He is as good as it gets."
Said Pendleton,"I’m hoping everybody does count us out and not think we are going to do much. But we’re going to come out and battle your rear end everyday."
