Brawl breaks out on Mother’s Day at East Point restaurant

EAST POINT, Ga. (AP) – An East Point restaurant had to close early on Mother’s Day due to a brawl.

Media outlets report that a fight broke out between customers and employees Sunday at Kiku Japanese Steakhouse.

A police report says busboy Demonte Harrison was cleaning tables when a female customer berated him for smiling. Harrison replied that it was his job to smile, and a male customer got up and punched Harrison.

The report says Harrison was attacked by three other men. Employees attempted to help Harrison fight them off.

Parts of the fight were recorded on cell phone video by other customers.

No one was seriously injured.

East Point police are looking for four men and one woman in connection with the incident.

Restaurant owner Charlie Son estimates he lost $5,000 in business because of the fight.
