Butch Jones Looking to Adjust Vols ‘Neyland Focus’
Tennessee was back home for the first time in nearly a month over the weekend, and the Vols survived to beat South Carolina 27-24.
UT raced out to a 17-0 lead before holding on to defeat the Gamecocks by three.
Head coach Butch Jones certainly enjoys the atmosphere at Neyland Stadium.
But he believes his team might be losing a little focus on Rocky Top because so much is going on.
As a result, Jones plans at least one minor change to help his guys ‘Neyland Focus’.
"We’re going to take more of a approach of the locker room and create more tight-knit in terms of restrictions in our locker room and different things that way. When you’re a young football team, you really struggle at times to focus. When you’re on the road, you don’t have a lot of distractions. It’s an honor and privilege to play in Neyland Stadium. I just didn’t think we had the overall focus for 60-minutes like we’ve had the last couple of weeks."
Added defensive back Cam Sutton-"Got a lot of people coming in and out of the locker room at home. I really don’t think it’s a problem because it’s just on the individual and whether he’s locked in and focused and ready to go."
