And they are asking for volunteers to help them serve the meals and also to hand out cold weather clothing.

“With the colder temperatures coming into the Tennessee Valley, the Union Gospel Mission has had an increased need for blankets, gloves, hats, and hand warmers,” states Executive Director Rev. Jon Rector.

“Neighbors can drop these items off any time during regular business hours to the Bessie Smith Cultural Center, located at 200 East Martin Luther King Blvd.”

They give out coats, blankets and gallon sized baggies of toiletries, gloves, hand warmers, socks and snacks.

If you would like to make a monetary donation, give at www.theuniongospelmission.org or by mail to PO Box 983, Chattanooga, TN, 37401.

You can also drop off donations to The Union Gospel Mission located at 124 Signal Hills Boulevard, Chattanooga, TN, 37405.

They also like Walmart and Food City gift cards for the homeless.
