Central Eyes Big Region Showdown With East Ridge

Chattanooga-(WDEF) With a 4-2 record this season, Central high school has already surpassed their victory total from last year, but the Purple Pounders are hungry for more.
Central is tied for first in their region with an unbeaten region mark, and they’re looking for a possible home playoff game.
But in order to achieve that goal, the Purple Pounders will have to get past a tough region opponent Friday in East Ridge.
Said Central head coach Cortney Braswell:”It has got tremendous implications. We haven’t hosted a home playoff game in nearly two decades. We haven’t had a chance to play for a district championship in probably about as much time. For us it’s a huge, huge thing. Trying to stay undefeated in the district and trying to really turn our program in the direction we want it to go. You can’t talk about progress. You can’t talk about the process of winning until you beat teams that you are not supposed to beat.”
