CFC Explode For Four Goals in the Second Half to Beat Atlanta

Chattanooga-(WDEF-TV) The CFC scored four goals in the second half to beat the Atlanta Silverbacks 4-1 on Wednesday night at Finley Stadium. It was Chattanooga’s first time back in the Scenic City after a five game road trip. Atlanta took a 1-0 lead at halftime on a break-away goal from Thierry Jules.

Then the CFC tied the match at one on a goal from Caleb Cole. Moments later and the CFC got a goal from a sliding Daneil Valenciano to give Chattanooga the lead at 2-1. Luke Winter got free behind the defense and punched in a pass to make it 3-1. Then Joao Costa added the final goal of the evening to complete the 4-1 victory.

Said Cole:”Going up 2-1 I think we broke their spirit just a little bit. They played a sharp game, but I think out subs came on and just took it to them.”
Reporter:”You tied it up at 1-1, did you get a sense what was coming after that?”
Said head coach Bill Elliott:”No but when we scored the second one, I had a sense that the flood gates were going to open.”
