CFC Leaving the ‘Finley Confines’ to Play For NPSL National Title

Chattanooga-(WDEF) The CFC has to travel to the Big Apple this weekend to play for the NPSL national title against the New York Under 23 team.

It will be the CFC’s first road game in over a month.
Chattanooga has enjoyed monster home crowds on their way to the title game, including almost 9,000 fans last week at Finely Stadium.
While the CFC will get to play in an MLS arena on Saturday, head coach Bill Elliott says he’ll miss the "Finley Confines".
"In a way it’s a little bit anti-climatic because we have been building these home crowds all along. We just love playing here at Finley in front of the home fans. I have no doubt we probably would have had 12,000 plus if we were playing here. So to go up there is exciting and different, but there’s not place like home. We would rather be here."
Saturday’s match is scheduled to get underway at 9:30 at the home of the New York Red Bulls MLS team. This will mark the third time the CFC has played for the NPSL national title. Chattanooga is still seeking their first championship.
