CFC Would Host MLS Team With a Victory on Wednesday in U.S. Open Cup

Chattanooga-(WDEF) The CFC is back home Wednesday for the third round of the U.S. Open Cup, the oldest soccer tournament in America.
Chattanooga advanced to round three after upsetting a professional team from Wilmington two weeks ago.
The CFC became the first club from their NPSL league to ever beat a pro team.
They’ll battle another pro club Wednesday night at 7:30 in the Atlanta Silverbacks.
And get this.
If the CFC wins, they will host an MLS team. The MLS of course is the top professional league in the United States.
The winner of the Atlanta-Chattanooga match will host Real Salt Lake of the MLS.
Said head coach Bill Elliott,"It’s exciting to be one of the few amateur teams still in the competition, and the only one to have knocked off a professional team."
Added striker Luke Winter,"Coach was just saying it’s the biggest game of Chattanooga’s history. You know it’s a great experience to get to play and hopefully we get the crowds, and we put on a show."
