Charlotte Names Chattanooga Native Will Healy New Head Football Coach
Charlotte athletic director Mike Hill announced on Tuesday that Chattanooga native Will Healy has taken the job as the 49er’s new head football coach. Healy served as the head coach at Austin Peay for the last three years. Before that, Healy was an assistant coach at UTC for six seasons. Healy took over an Austin Peay program that was one of the worst in the country. They were 3-43 in the four years before Healy took over. After going 0-11 in his first year, Healy finished with a 13-21 record with the Governors, and he earned national coach of the year honors in 2017 after posting an 8-4 mark.
