Chatsworth firefighter arrested for domestic violence

CHATSWORTH, Ga. (WDEF) – A Chatsworth firefighter sits in jail Monday night, charged with a family violence act.

The Chatsworth Police Department requested the GBI conduct an investigation on Timothy Benson after the Chatsworth Police and Murray County Sheriff’s office responded to his home on Sunday.

The victim and her child ran to a neighbor’s home to call 911 to report domestic abuse and shots fired by Benson.

Officers arrested Benson and charged him with two counts Aggravated Assault, one count of Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of a Felony and a slew of other charges.
