Chatt Foundation provides annual Thanksgiving meals
Community Kitchen feeds hundreds as city's homeless community continues to grow
CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) — Chattanooga’s Community Kitchen provided their annual Thanksgiving dinner for those in the city’s growing homeless community today.
The Chatt Foundation’s Holly Reeve says guests were treated as if they were in a restaurant – being waited on by staff and even having pie options.
Pecan seems to be the favorite.
She says after going through unthinkable hardships – they, like everyone today – deserve a hot meal and encouragement.
“Our goal today is let’s meet the nutritional needs of our participants,” Reeve said. “So we’ll have somewhere between, we’ll do a count, 300 to 500 coming in today. We serve 400 to 500 daily.”
Reeve says the Foundation is grateful for those in the community who donated to today’s meal.
For those looking to sign up and volunteer for Christmas, you can do so online.
She says donations are always welcome, as well.
